About
Operation and funding
The Nordic microalgae and aquatic protozoa website is operated by the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) and is a service part of the Swedish Biodioversity Data Infrastructure (SBDI) (https://biodiversitydata.se), funded by SMHI and the Swedish Research Council through Grant No 2019-00242.
SBDI is making biodiversity data accessible providing powerful analysis and visualization tools. SBDI is a merge of the former infrastructures Swedish LifeWatch (SLW) and Biodiversity Atlas Sweden (BAS). SBDI also includes GBIF Sweden. SBDI is developed in collaboration with the Living Atlases community, and will offer unprecedented opportunities for innovative, interdisciplinary research on biodiversity and ecosystems. The Swedish Research Council, has provided funds for the development and operation of Nordic Microalgae since 2010.
