Other remarks
Solitary specimens can be confused with solitary living species as e.g. Chaetoceros tenuissimus Meunier.
Distribution: Northern Atlantic and Northern Pacific.

Cells united in short chains or solitary.
Size
Diameter = 5 - 17 µm, Pervalvar axis = 11-15 µm, Transapical axis = 7 µm
