Diaphanoeca grandis Ellis, 1930

Diaphanoeca grandis
Lorica length: 24-38µm, Lorica width: 20µm Costae: 4 transverse, 13 longitudinal Distribution: Apparently worldwide in coastal areas Characteristic features: Lorica onion-shaped with longitudinal costa protuding from the anterior transverse costal ring, from which the cell appears to be suspended by the distal part of the pseudopodial collar. (Marine Phytoplankton: Carmelo R. Thomas 1993)
